We’ve been a few times to the Unity Fair and it’s classic Maine fair. Horse pulling, goat petting (and every other farm animal), and old worn out carnival rides. A big ol’ group of thirteen went this year and scattered in all directions when we landed. Albert went to watch his brothers pull their horses, Nathan, his friend and Jess split for the “big kid” rides and the City Libby’s tagged all the kiddie rides. In fair tradition trying foods, this year I grabbed a pail of Ribbon Fries, which were incredibly tasty on the way down, but when they landed… they tore at your gut.
After a few rides we all walked around to see the various displays. Fruits and vegetables, tractors and cars, wool and rugs. We went through the museum and had just enough daylight to walk through the old buildings. We scampered off to Augusta for a sandwich before heading it home for another year.
